above you can see lab binær’s incredibly inventive idea.
place a circular sheet of luminiscent paper on top of the disk of a turntable. replace the head with a led stripe, plus equip the arm with motor control.
what you get is a display with natural delay. they use it for showing stories of death taken from the media.
another good implementation of the same tech is delivered by waxing prolix they seem to either have over ingineered the sollution or just a bad interpretation from my side. anyway nearly same technology but in linear form instead.

le corpse mince de francoise & acid glasses

thanks for a good phono festival, i must say that one of the bands i had looked most forward to delivered the goods in abnormal powerfull ways!
le corpse mince de francoise is one hell of an energy bomb!
i was so exited that i afterwards gave them a pair of my invention ‘acid glasses’ as a token of appreciation.
as im just a tech-guy i was happy to witness they actually wrote something on the internet about just those glasses.
here goes (in censored form without names) the nice little talk.
and again thanks for a nice concert!!!

two diy light projects - ccfl and plasma globe
0 Comments | Posted by johannesgj in Projects, diy, light
ccfl stands for Cold Cathode Flourescent Lights.
its the tiny light bars inside your lcd minitor. they are nice for projects as they use nearly no energy and they are small factor while also having the ability to spread the light on large surfaces because of their rather long size.
here is a picture of them:
they run on rather high voltage but at the same time low current so not usually dangerous if you do it right.
to use themn in your projects you need to use at first the inverter that takes care of the high voltage and then a power source.
here is some projects describing exactly that:

the other light project is the plasma globe.
the plasma globe uses extremely high voltage to create plasma (state of matter with only ions or somethn
which flows around trying to find a place to get rid of its energy. thereby the lightnings.

and heres some projects on how do it yourself:
