Redite by Patrick Boivin - a 20’s short from the future?

i like short films have in mind doing it myself in the future. but never will i reach the level of Patrick Boivin. in Redite he has made an almost total imitation of the 20’s silent movies. from the grainy sepia colors to the light but mysterious theme and finally in the genious main actor. the actor simply looks incredibly like early silent moviestars and reminds me a little of buster keaton. anyway the way this doll like creature moves is very quirky
watch it and check out more of Patricks works.

when hearing it was tim burton who produced this expansion of the 2005 short film 9, i knew i was going to watch it.
Tim burtons works and projects has a general quality and entertainment value that is rare. His filmography is filled with good stories, incredible visual flow, and nearly always an original touch in the theme, story or filming techniques.
its an animation and well directed by Shane Acker.
its cast is stunning with especially Jenniffer Connelly whom i have admired since ‘Requiem For a Dream’, Furthermore Elijah Wood, who i like from sin city and Christopher Plummer who i only know from the Sound of Music.
all in all the cast, director and producer plus the post apocalyptic theme is in itself reason enough to see this film, but the animation adds a whole new dimension.
watch it below or if the link dosent work search here.

i just came home from norberg festival where i met a guy as marked by sci-fi as myself.
i told him of Kin Dza Dza a russian sci fi movie form the 80’s.
ive only seen it without subtitles myself so i searched for a subtitled version.
apparently that didnt exist officially, but i was so lucky to find a google video where some guys had put time into translating themselves and thereafter releasing it for public. so here it is both first and second part. Enjoy!!!
