CAT | laser projector
first step in building the laser projector seems to be the dac. it has to be wired up to a sort of correction amp which i’ll come back to in later posts.
the audio card is idealy having:
- a channel for x cordinates
- 1 for y cordinates
- 1 for red laser
- 1 for green laser
- 1 for blue/violet laser
and then to the last you can optionally choose to add to extra channels for letting out stereo audio at the same time while projecting.
some recommended audio cards is these from usb gear
which cost ca. 23 $
the picture above is taken from this post by james in the laserboy forums.
what it shows is the disected audio card with attached usb cable.
you can see the audio card has been modified and now features cables that goes from solder points on the pcb itself.
these cables make the power head out of the card before it is turned into unusable sound waves which come out the connectors normally used.
next post will be about the object that the dac pcb is connected to.
