on google groups i found a thread discussing how to make an alternate power supply for your c64. the case is that the original psu is way to old and bad in every condition. it simply dosent deliver what it is told to
so here goes some tips on how to build your own using some leftover psu’s from different computers laying around.
here is some other tips regarding the same.

i was really down to found out my tv and video couldtn find the commodore antenna signal. so guess how happy i was to find out how easy it is to make a composite video cable!!!
check http://sta.c64.org/cbmmonc.html for more info, but here is an overview:

i was just surfing the danish ebay kind of site today and realized that this was a bargain compared to normal prices for used vintage computers.
normally commodore are sold for approx 100$ in denmark. and atari always a little more plus a straight of 80$ for nes.
its quite expensive due to the massive trend in these kind of objects right now.
i bought my first commodore vic20 for 25$ in a second shop where they didnt even know what it was.
so generally all electronics are either served expensive because its value is known by the seller or expensive because the seller is of the impressions that electronics in general is expensive?
i dont know but seeing this bargain got my brain running with thoughts on midibox and stuff.
or more easy the mssiah music interface for commodore.
i love this vintage computer equipment. i love the feeling of when you have plugged everything right and press the on button only a delay of a few microseconds seperate you from a ready to use interface. windows could surely learn from that ![]()
but seriously why is it so hard to make instant on devices why have we gone from a past where instant on was the standar and admittetly interfaces ran slow during operation to a period where instant on isnt more than a myth but with nearly nondelay during operation.
it is sure a problem seen from how often computers are used now cause you tend to leave them on too much time in fear of slow on-time.
well what are oure thoughts?
