Diy vinyl records
i have long been wanting to be able to make my own vinyl records.
here is all the information i have gathered please use it.
in making your own vinyl records you need two things
a press to make copies and a lathe to cut the grooves in the record.
in the touching point between the lathe and the record when cutting is the cutterhead:

the cutterhead is a mechanic device that transfers audio into movement of a thin thin needle.
the needle hangs in a spring so when not pushed it goes back to calm position.
the needle however is also connected to two drives that each sit in a 45ª angle position.
this gives the needle the movement accordingly:
if both drive r and b are moving up and down at the same time, they change the width of the groove thereby volume:

if either r or b is moving more than the other it causes the groove to move to the sides thereby pitch:

this was for a mono cutter.
a stereo cutter does the same, the only difference is that it puts two different channels into the head which gives movent like:
left side of groove is left ear and right side is right ear.
to understand the princip better visit vinyl recorder.
